Don’t Make these Curb Appeal Mistakes
Curb Appeal Mistakes to Avoid if you’re planning to Sell:
Painting your front door any extreme color. Any neutral tone, or a subdued color that complements the general color scheme of the property is acceptable. Buyers tend to shun loud colors on a front door, and form an unfavorable impression before they even enter.
Keeping your storm door up. It’s far less inviting and cheapens the look of the house in listing photos.
Forgetting about your planters. Empty planters look very unkempt. Either fill them with flowers or put them away so you don’t have a container of dirt sitting at the entryway.
Not having a clear walkable path to your front door. Oftentimes, homeowners enter their homes through the garage door or back door and overlook their front entryway.
Overgrown bushes. Trim down or remove any large bushes to show off the house. On the flip side, if the front of the house is bare, add small evergreens in winter months or floral bushes during the spring and summer months, depending on the climate where you live.
